The much-awaited Kokapet Trumpet Flyover near the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Hyderabad is now ready for public use. Officials confirmed that the structure is complete and will soon open to traffic. Once operational, it will significantly ease congestion and provide smooth access between Gachibowli, Patancheru, and Shamshabad.

Located near the busy Kokapet area, the flyover aims to address the bottlenecks caused by rising vehicle volume in the IT and financial districts. With seamless entry and exit points connecting to the ORR, it is expected to streamline movement across the city’s fast-developing western corridor.

Strategic Importance and Traffic Relief

The flyover will benefit thousands of daily commuters who face delays due to merging traffic from various junctions leading to the ORR. This trumpet-style structure allows vehicles to join and exit the highway smoothly without causing backlogs. Officials anticipate a major reduction in travel time for those heading toward the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport via Shamshabad.

Moreover, the new flyover will reduce dependency on local roads and internal service lanes that have struggled to handle peak-hour loads. The connectivity boost is crucial for the area’s growing residential and commercial hubs.

Infrastructure Part of Larger Urban Plan

The Kokapet flyover is part of a broader infrastructure push by the Telangana government to enhance mobility around Hyderabad. Along with several other ongoing projects, this development supports the city’s aim to become more commuter-friendly. The project aligns with the administration’s long-term plan to improve arterial roads and reduce ORR congestion by providing alternate, high-speed access routes.
