Ahmedabad station, one of the busiest in Western India, sees nearly 1.2 lakh passengers daily. Railways expect the number to rise to 3 lakh by 2053. Howrah station in Kolkata is even busier, handling over 10 lakh passengers every day.
With Uber services available right inside these stations, travelers no longer need to step outside into crowded areas to book a ride. Dedicated pickup and drop zones have been set up to ensure quick access. This setup reduces waiting time, eases confusion, and makes journeys safer, especially for passengers with heavy luggage or those arriving late at night.
First-of-its-Kind Partnership in India
This is Uber’s first managed operation inside Indian railway stations. Company leaders highlighted that the partnership will strengthen urban mobility and build a seamless multimodal travel network.
